Things change, places too, people do or don’t

Posted by: travelinka on: April 17, 2009

It’s been a month since I got on a plane headed to Ecuador.

Here’s a short insight in what I’ve been up to these past few weeks:

- got to Quito, received more than a friendly welcome from Mojca’s friends

- worked as an assistant to the CCUSA director on a jobfair here – love that woman and totally enjoyed the time I spent with the CCUSA staff – an amazing crowd of people my friend Mojca has as co-workers here. Great, unforgettable times!

- just when I got sick (got a really bad cold, my throat was killin me and all) my “travel-buddy” took off and left without saying goodbye.

- at the same time another person walked into my life and took care of me – am very grateful for this – great timing.

- went to the coast of Ecuador for a week after I got well and really enjoyed myself. It’s a whole different world outthere …

- got back to Quito … planing my next step.

Will write in more detail … maybe ;)

Stayin true to my …

Guess who’s going to Morocco soon, very soon … and then to South America right after that :))

Stayin’ true to my nature and my name, I’m finally going traveling again!!! YAY!!! It’s been 5 months in this little country of ours, and it’s about time to move on.

I’m so excited, it’s hard to put it into words. :)

New people, places, spaces, cultures, smells and all the unexpected and undiscovered … together with a good friend or two along the way … a true dream come true!! :)

March already!!!?

It just hit me it’s March already and I’m trying to find a free layout I’d find decent enough. Still experimenting …

It’s a long road …

Am I inspired??? I sure am!! :P

Why, you ask?

Well, I just rediscovered an old song I could easily put down as one of my all time favourites. It got me through a lot of sleepless nights, lighting up dark spaces in my soul.

I remember being a kid (pretty much lost in all that was going on at the time) and lying in my bed at night, listening to this song … it always managed to get me from a point of despair and fear to a point of hope and strenght.

And it still does.

Here’s to great, inspiring music! : Mariah Carey; Hero

And here’s the lyrics to it:

There’s a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don’t have to be afraid
Of what you are
There’s an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you’ll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It’s a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself

And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don’t let anyone
Tear them away

Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You’ll find the way

Things I’ve learnt through the years

- If you think you’ve dealt with some assholes in your time, just be grateful for the ones you were spared.

- Some people believe they have nothing to give. So they give nothing. And take all they can get, always feeling they’re lacking something. Stay away from those!

- People lie to themselves and to god everyday, so it’s only normal they’ll lie to you too.

- If someone doesn’t love you, it’s their problem, not yours.

- Nevermind what others say (be it good or bad).

- Always tell the truth. It might hurt for a moment, but you’ll save yourself lots of time and trouble.

- Stay away from those who solve their problems by getting drunk/stoned etc. They’d rather take a shot of alcohol than a shot at anything really valuable.

- Those who hurt you didn’t know any better. Bless them and move on!

- Keep your distance with people with big emotional ups and downs (unless you want to join them).

- It doesn’t matter who’s wrong and who’s right. It’s how you feel that counts. Keep your peace and give up the need to persuade anyone into anything.

- Forgive yourself and everyone else every day. It’s one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.

- Be grateful for everything that happened or didn’t happen. If it happened it was meant to, if it didn’t it wasn’t.

- When it’s time to end a situation/relationship, make sure you come out with a peaceful heart and a smile on your face.

- When it comes to knowing a person’s character words are worthless, it’s their actions that count.

Got thru’ it, yeah! :)

Now, here’s a song that I can truly sing with all my heart!!! (now once again and forever) … click to hear it: The Storm is Over; R. Kelly

One of the best lyrics ever!!! I do recommend reading it through:

I was in a tunnel
And couldn’t see the light
And whenever I’d look up
I couldn’t see the sky
Sometimes when I’m standin’
It seems like I done walked for miles
And my heart could be cryin’
Dead in the middle of a smile

But then I climbed the hills
And saw the mountains
I hollered help ’cause I was lost
Then I felt the strong wind
Heard a small voice sayin’

The storm is over
(The storm is over now)
And I can see the sunshine
(Somewhere beyond the clouds)
I feel Heaven, yeah
(Heaven is over me)
Come on and set me free, whoa

Now in the midst of my battle
All hope was gone
Downtown in a rushed crowd
And felt all alone
And every now and then
I felt like I would lose my mind
I’ve been racin’ for years
And still no finish line, oh

But then I climbed the hills
And saw the mountains (Mountains)
I hollered help ’cause I was lost
Then I felt the strong wind
And then a small voice sayin’

The storm is over
(The storm is over now)
And I can see the sunshine
(Somewhere beyond the clouds)
I can feel Heaven, yeah
(Heaven is over me)

Come on and set me free

Somehow my beginning stepped right in (Right in)
Then faith became my friend (My friend)
And now I can depend
On the voices of the wind
When it’s sayin’ (Sayin’)

The storm is over
(The storm is over now)
And I can see the sunshine
(Somewhere beyond the clouds)
I can feel Heaven, yeah
(Heaven is over me)

Won’t you come and set me free
Won’t you set me free

The storm is over
(The storm is over now)
And I can see the sunshine
(Somewhere beyond the clouds)
I can feel Heaven, yeah
(Heaven is over me)
Won’t you come and set me free

Feelin’?? —- HEAVENLY!!!! :)

It’s all right

My version of 2 old songs, revised, improved: ;)

It’s all right what you say to me
Where you’re at right now baby, it’s all right with me
Behind your truths or somewhere inside your lies, these long cold days of gray, they color your eyes

And it’s all right, what you think of me
Where we’re at right now baby, it’s where we need to be

And I can see things so clearly through tear-stained eyes, the side effects of time in all our good-byes, and it’s all right

And when your fears subside
And shadows still remain,

I know that you can love me
When there’s no one left to blame

I’m back, “Fumbling towards Ectasy”

Due to the constant interest in this blog I will continue posting my more personal “insights” on this blog, separated (for the time being) from the other “creations” I am working on.

I’m switching to English, leaving the blog with only the older posts I find might be of positive relevance to the visitors.

Cleaned up, reloaded, ready for a new,  magical journey. :)

Here’s the lyrics to sum up the mood of the moment – click to hear the song: Sarah McLachlan; Fumbling …:

All the fear has left me now
Im not frightened anymore
Its my heart that pounds beneath my flesh
Its my mouth that pushes out this breath

And if I shed a tear I wont cage it
I wont fear love
And if I feel a rage I wont deny it
I wont fear love

Companion to our demons
They will dance, and we will play
With chairs, candles, and cloth
Making darkness in the day
It will be easy to look in or out
Upstream or down without a thought

And if I shed a tear I wont cage it
I wont fear love
And if I feel a rage I wont deny it
I wont fear love

Peace in the struggle
To find peace
Comfort on the way
To comfort

And if I shed a tear I wont cage it
I wont fear love

I’d like to thank everyone who in the past few months took the time to take a look at (or even comment on a post) on my blog. It’s been quite a ride for me personally (I don’t know about you guys), but I hope it’s been at least a wee-bit useful for all of you as well.

As of this moment on I am embarking on a new path, so this might be my last post on this blog.

Catch me on another “channel” soon! I promise it’ll be an experience you won’t forget.;)

ali v prevodu: danes JE prvi dan preostanka mojega življenja

It was about time, I’d say. (Pomoje je že čas.) :)

Why? ‘Coz I choose so. (Zakaj? Ker sem se tako odločila.)

My steps might be small, changes hardly noticeable, but I am from now on moving FORWARD. And forward only!
